The Dubai Motorsport Festival is a thrilling experience for anyone, whether you’re a lone traveler, a couple that enjoys motorsports or a family looking to enjoy an exciting event together. The Dubai Autodrome as host for the Festival furnishes transportation to and from the event at regular intervals thus freeing attendees from the stresses of traffic and parking. Typical features are the Yellow Hat Touring Cars Championship, the Gulf Radical Cup and the UAE Sportbike Championship-something for everyone. Off-track activities are equally popular with parades, events specifically for children, an Extreme Motion show customization display along with car club displays. Parades round out the off track activities. You’ll see stunt riders such as Craig Jones and every year a chance is offered to get a free training session from a world class stunt biker. The Motorsport Festival is fun for all ages and thrills galore.

There is also a Watersports Festival, something that people in most of the world don’t usually think of in connection with the United Arab Emirates. But Dubai has been blessed with a lovely, pristine coastline teeming with wildlife and perfect for sports as well as culture and education. You may want to attend the Sea Dubai Watersports Festival, which features traditional rowing and sailing competitions as well as powerboat races. The idea behind this Festival is to exhibit skill and culture as well as thrills and competition. In addition to kayak races there is the Iron Student Competition which showcases students of all ages competing in four categories of water sports. Even if you don’t particularly like water sports, just sitting on the warm sand and appreciating the beautiful, jewel-like waters and azure skies is well worth the trip.

Dubai can be a great place for those who like to be physically active or simply enjoy watching sports. As well as the organized sports festivals, Dubai has some great adventures outdoors. You might want to book a desert safari or if you enjoy off-road traveling you can rent an appropriate vehicle and take off. Prepare to get stuck if you don't have experienced with desert off roading. That really isn’t a worry, though, if you rent a vehicle that is equipped with GPS communications (most rented to tourists are). Go ahead and get a four wheel drive “desert rat” and prepared to be awed by the Hanging Garden, Khutwa, Fossil Rock and other outstandingly lovely destinations. Rental agencies will discourage you from taking solo trips, however, as they are concerned about your safety and know the dangers of the desert. Those who listen to them have a wonderful, memorable experience. Those who don’t, wish they had.

A great destination for the sports enthusiast whether it be motorsports, rugby, waterspouts, soccer, camping, deep sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling or golfing. We have just scratched the surface of all this fantastic region has to offer.
