Desert Golf Classic
The Dubai Desert Classic reaches a new landmark this year—twenty years of exceptional service, exciting golf and world-class talent!
The Classic Week in February of 2009 showcases one of the world’s most prestigious and exciting set of links, established in 1989 and illustrating the Dubai continuing passion for the game of golf. Even the greats such as Thomas Bjorn and Tiger Woods look forward to walking the links and taking the challenge of this course.
Hundreds of junior golfers have grown up watching the superb skill of golfing superstars including Khalid Yousuf, who became the first UAE national to advance to the global stage. Since its inception, the Dubai Golf Classic has adhered to the strictest standards while becoming one of the most hospitable golf courses and getaways in the world.
The Emirates Golf Club, often called The Desert Miracle, hosts the PGA European Tour and has one of the finest courses in the world. But it’s much more than golf; it’s an adventure you’ll share with people from all over the world. Nearly every article you see about Dubai mentions the visitors that flock there from all over the globe; this jewel of the United Arab Emirates is known for its hospitality, the warmth of its people and its acceptance of all cultures and customs. So you will truly enjoy the many attractions of the Dubai Golf Classic and all the entertainment and amenities it has to offer.
On the first tee is the Le Classique Restaurant, with its terrace open to all guests to enjoy the sunshine and a truly exhilarating view of the start of the Dubai Golf Classic. A big screen TV allows you to catch the opening shots if you prefer to sit at a table rather than stand on the terrace and you’ll be able to follow the action all over the course.
You may want to book into the 16 Green Private Chalet, a private skybox overlooking the 16th green that puts you and your guests right in the center of the action. You can see the putting green as well as 10th tee shots. These corporate skyboxes are available for up to 100 guests and offer high quality service and an experience not soon forgotten.
You may also want to attend the Afternoon at the Challenge Match, 9 holes played by the stars of the tournament strictly for fun on the Emirates Par 3 course.
The Classic isn’t only for executives and professionals, though. Anyone can attend the event if tickets are reserved early enough and even the least expensive packages include service that will make you genuinely feel like a welcomed guest.
The beauty of the course and the hospitality of Dubai make it clear why the Dubai Golf Classic has thrived for twenty year and will like grow in popularity far into the future. It truly is, in every sense of the word, a classic.
